Tiny portable mixers

I've been looking at a few different mixers for a small live thing. All I need is 4 mono and a couple of stereo channels (most small mixers seem to have shared stereo channels to save space)
It would be nice to have some effects on it too, all I really want is reverb & some delays (would like tempo delays either on MIDI or tap but can't seem to find anything cheap with tempo delays).

No how bad are the Behringer Xenyx mixers? I've heard they're a massive improvement on the old Euroracks for both build quality and noise levels but I haven't got any experience with them. I've never owned any Behringer gear in fact due to how awful they used to be but I have heard a few people saying good things about them recently.

My budget isn't much more than £100 and I can get the Xenyx 1202fx for £77

Any other suggestions? Not adverse to second hand either or even a tiny FX unit plus non-fx mixer either.
I'd need to be able to fit the lot (along with 3 Korg Volcas and an akai MPXCool in to a single case to get it on a plane which is why I was thinking of internal fx rather than external unless it was a half rack width sized unit.
I've been tempted by one of those Xenyx mixers for a while now. The few pro reviews you can find of them online were fairly favourable but I do remember that the delay wasn't adjustable or syncable to tempo.

Sounds like you're doing a live set mate... prey tell? Wink
I've been playing round with some ideas, yes Wink

A very simple techno kinda thing pretty much using the 3 Korg Volcas and a little Akai thing that holds 8 samples at a time to help flesh it out a bit.
Still working on how to control it all because the sync on the volca doesn't include transport controls and my ability to hit play on 3 things at once isn't the best, let alone triggering things off the Akai sample pads.

I got the MTRX-8 homebrew sequencer thing a couple of months back and it's great but the current set up is 1 synth track plus 1 drum track. He's working on a new firmware called Seq4 which is kinda obvious what that does! Also been looking at come iPhone sequencers that could do the trick with a MIDI output for the phone.

My mates have land in Portugal and do a small festival there each year and asked if I wanted to do a live thing there at the end of May, so trying to work something out and need it to all fit into a single foam-lined case I reckon for transportation.

Sounds good mate. Obviously would love to hear some whenever you're ready to record some. Not IF you record, when you record Wink

Also let me know about the mixer if you get it. Thinking my Folio F1 could be replaced with one if the FX do the job just about.
I'll do some kind of recording at some point.

I just got an iPad and Genome MIDI Sequencer is brilliant! Camera connector to MIDI cable in to MIDI splitter and out to the Volcas and the little Akai sample player is great.
If you've not seen Genome, it works with clips, so you write all your MIDI parts and then either put them in to a song mode or launch them live as in Ableton. It'll be brilliant for a live thing and holds considerably more patterns than the 8 the Volcas can hold.

You can also do virtual MIDI connections to any other apps that support virtual MIDI so will be brilliant when I'm out and about for work which can be 4-5 hours of travel in a day. Tried it out with hardware and other apps and it works perfectly.
Xyxthumbs Sounds awesome, look forward to hearing some of that. Love mini setups, can really spark creativity and get to the essentials of making a solid core to a jam.

Bit the bullet let and got the Xenyx 1202fx. Arrives tomorrow, just in time for my 4 day weekend. Had 2 holiday days left that I needed to use by the end of January and plan to make the most of them.

Got it for £81 on Amazon, so. Not too much of a risk. As long as the delay is not too awful (lack of tempo control could be a killer) and the reverb is usable, it'll do just fine.

Fingers crossed I get something going this weekend that's worth posting up.
Look forward to hearing what it's like Ben.

I did have a quick play on Genome when my iPad was jailbroken before. Had it sequencing my C64. I liked it but didn't give it long enough to prosper really.

Unsynced delays are where it's at dude! Match it by ear and just roll with it. Post up whatever you get out your speakers.

Edit: Assuming it has some sort of Rate control....
