DnB / Broken beat / Downtempo / lower BPM faves

There's 20+  years of music to file back into here, all eras producing lower bpm offerings of dnb tunes & productions, originals, or otherwise.

I've always like the diversion to different bpm's from various producers, particularly if the tunes were included on 12"s alongside dnb standards, like how Reinforced included broken beat tunes on 12"s and such for an example.

FUNK.. what were some of your dnb broken beat, lower bpm moments?

PFM, "Val Sinestra" e.p... I still have the vinyl. "In Love" garage mix is killer as well.   Xyxthumbs

^^ WOW, that's nice. Smile

feel free to raid & post your personal faves of Seiji's career & discography, i'm ALL ears! Smile

integrating it all in one tune..

smooth.

Eprom & Alix Perez owe Danny Breaks much..

heh.

In general.. SHADES all day.

Total Science easily could have forged a successful, alternate path to techno, house, lower related bpms

I've always held an ear out to their diversions.

Lovely thread you have here, ToRMeNT+. Xyxthumbs
Here is my first recommendation, filed in broken beat

Baron Zen - Theme (Danny Breaks Remix)

There is a audio sample in The Dastardly Diaries, Chapter 2. Wink

^^ Some atmospheric metal bands today attempt to make tunes like that heh. Nice. Very abstract. Shows the accomplishments of Blu Mar Ten as producers. They could produce circles around many. Good stuff.

Amon Tobin in his entirety is one producer whom introduced himself to the dnb / electronic music world showcasing this entire premise of divergent bpms in one sitting, on single releases, full lps, etc. Like producers such as Seiji, Danny Breaks, et all, you can easily count Amon Tobin as another producer who defined that bridge of many bpms within a loose framework of dnb.

CUJO.. great Amon Tobin, 1996 debut lp, recommended to this day. So much to dig into.

nice thread to dig back into T-Power's breaks releases from back when.

Marc Royal / T-Power, aka. Mr. Sofalumpkins

dang.. that Chocolate Weasel stuff is good, nice to hear it again.

the entire Chris Energy "The Jazz Step" e.p. is lush, imo.

Panacea's Kate Mosh releases were cool. I still have the Kate Mosh, 2001 "Dynamo" lp on cd.      Good listen.

not exactly lower bpm on the speedcore stuff, but otherwise, there's industrial ambient stuff on the lp.

(..fun fact:  there's was also a German screamo band with the same name, & a really great Italian grindcore band called xKatexMoshx. But I digress... )

As posted in the Electronic Body Music thread..

New Frames, 2017 "Resistance Through Rituals" lp, also featuring Mathis Mootz/ Panacea

Of course, Mootz no stranger to lower bpm, industrial techno, ambient works and more over the decades. Lots to check out.
