maybe they cool the air so the water in it condensates and spray it out at high speed.. illuminating it from the back...
anyway, it seems to be real and they seem to use some trick to make the air foggy and then shoot it out from an array of nozzles.
they use a beamer on the back to project an image on the 2d air screen
(at least that's what i conclude from the videos)

saw this posted on doa, i thought it was a hoax but maybe it could work by cooling air & condensing water. that would explain why it only works in a fairly limited temperature range.
30 day warranty and half of the payment in advance before its even ready sounds well dodgy though
