Bio: (In-Progress)
Forestry Service Recordings was born in late 2003 when Machu (Label Manager / A&R) was sent a CD of new tunes from Alpha Omega. The quality of the tunes, combined with the fact that most would never see a release on vinyl (because of current fashions in Drum and Bass), inspired Machu to start a label specifically to release this music that he had been sent. The idea of the label expanded and soon a couple more artists were added to the label's roster. Since its beginning the label's sound has always been shaped by an "Old School" aesthetic: break-beats take importance over two-step drum patterns, atmosphere and vibe are placed above the noise and aggression that most Drum and Bass of the time featured.
