The government should raise the wages, improve working conditions, cut the long hours........

Why is nursing regarded now as such a low status job?
More should be done to raise its profile as a worthwhile profession.

All of these points need to be addressed by the government; we should be looking after the nurses and ensuring their well being at work.

After yesterday, some(not all) co-workers are chatting bullshite about "they come and take our jobs and houses", and this is the actual dept where we hire bank nurses for this NHS Trust and so should fully be aware that people born here RARELY apply for nurse jobs and that the immigrants are needed to fill the gap!

I just dont understand how it is not as clear as day the problem we especially if you work in it day in day!!

Its like they see the problem everyday, and then go home and come back with sprouting some fresh Daily Mail bullshite.

Maybe it now reflective of our society, where our own personal goals and life, is far more important than anyone elses and we are only concerned with ourselves and are not interested in performing a role where we help others.

christ that's terrible man. bad enough that it happened, but then to find yourself right in the middle, surrounded by people who blithely go along with it. it's an outrage--though hardly a shock--that people can think that way, and that government can so easily turn them against others. all the same kind of shit happens here in the u.s. and is being debated in predictably smallminded/racist terms.

small consolation that your coworkers may put it together when they have a hard time filling all those new job openings. way too late for all the poor folks who got nicked.

if you can get away with talking to the press and not putting your job at risk, it might be a good way to help other undocumented folks avoid the same fate.

Gah, that shit makes me angry. There's a family here in Ireland down to be deported on Friday, they have a 6 yr old boy who is autistic. They've been here 4 years, the kids are as Irish as any other nippers around. Fucking outrageous :angry:
