"knowing is not enough, we must apply.
willing is not enough, we must do." Bruce Lee one of the greatest albums ever! statto Wrote: far more silly that that ! also this is how an album should work love the way the tracks at the begining are more standard pop-y/rock-y stuff then slowly the vocals take a back seat to the more shoegazey stuff at the end! i love's it i do!

IMO the best Cure album, but I must say, I haven't given it a complete 100% focused listen. Two years ago, drunk and bored as hell, I decided to flip through my roommates cd's and give him shit about all the "I sit at home and cry by myself in my bedroom" music he had. (Ironically, I was listening to alot of the smiths at the time) I listened to this and Further Down the Spiral, and realized I really missed out on this stuff.
I always half suspected that BMT sampled Chimesong for one of their 12's... but it don't matter anyhow

THE ABSOLUTE BEST!
yes. still an amazing album.
i heard "A Night Like This" in the car the other day, and realized how much I love the tune, hence the thread search & bump on Cure specifics here ha. still. I appreciate most eras of The Cure, give or take. I still think they've always been one of the most underrated psychedelic bands ever, its always been there. and yeah, one of the best Cure covers ever here. this cover is actually a really obscure thing to upload on the internet, but i'm happy somebody did. back in the day, my brother and I heard this on the radio one late nite, and we went ape shit. he ordered the cd comp from the back of some zine, and that's how I got to hear it after that. .. back in the olden days, before the internet. heh. its emo as fuck, but what would you expect?
when I was kid, i found it very odd that my aunt was a casual Cure fan. she actually had a copy of Disintegration that I saw one day in her car. I never would have thought!
I watched the Trilogy live vids again a couple weeks ago. Great listens.
"..The Trilogy Concerts, in which the three albums, Pornography (1982), Disintegration (1989) and Bloodflowers (2000) were played live in their entirety one after the other each night, the songs being played in the order in which they appeared on the albums. Trilogy was recorded on two consecutive nights, 11–12 November 2002, at the Tempodrom arena in Berlin."
btw ^^ the last song performance of the encore with "The Kiss" @ 1:05:28 in the Encore Trilogy vid is fantastic. Recommended.
**edited for convenient selective listening..
it does go on a bit though

^^ of course.
It is interesting to see some of the comments on the blog vote page, and some people are posting their lists, and to see very few of my picks in the lists.. with 224 songs, you can have completely unique choices. heh. I prefer a lot of the RAWK, simply as I've mentioned, the psychedelia blares full force. ^^ "End" posted above, is perhaps the most metal (heh ) the Cure has gotten? Once again.. "Wish" lp, had some great stuff, imo. Shake Dog Shake Give Me It Open
I know this song description is vague as they come, but there's a piece that sounds very Cure-y of the "Love Song" style, with lyrics like:
"we're taking this car and driving fast and I don't care if we crash and burst into flames as long as I die next to you" ...that kind of thing...it was on Spotify one early morning. Does anyone know it? It's bloody awesome. Real thriller music. 80s new wave sound.
little cover / dickin' round with The Cure "Love Song" and a portion of "Disintegration" as ghostwriting for scattered sounds in a audiofield mix
