And even if there are one or two anecdotes of some insane lunatics engaging in Muslim behavior which has been institutionalized by Islam, I don't see how that proves anything.

These attacks (domestic violence) happen in the whole region quite frequently, i.e. Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, in both the muslim and hindu communities, so it's not a religious behaviour but a result of the low status women have there. Absolutely disgusting. One more reson besides over-population to support family planning and related education.

If these attacks are religious-based as BMP seems to think, then why do they appear to be instead REGION-based?

If they were religious-based don't you think we'd hear the same stories coming from places like Iran, Kuwait, London, Turkey, the USA, and other places where Muslims live?

You will find that there's also an increasing number of men who are victims of acid attacks. Looks like acid is becoming the "weapon of choice" for various crimes in the region.
