...I have had this problem with my Vaio. Thankfully goes away when using the EMU 1616m microdock (which uses un-earthed PSU)

on a serious now , ground loop is deffinetly your power supply i had the same prob with my vaio , ask for a 2 pin adapter intead of the 3 pin and it works fine
why should we fuss n fight
