white mark on vinyl (can't remove)

hey guys i was wondering if you could help me. On one of my vinyls there is this white mark that covers about 15 seconds or so of the song but the needle clicks when it goes over it and its pissing me off. The white mark is basically like tip ex when its dried and i cant seem to remove it.

I was wondering if anyone had ever had anything like this on there vinyl or if anyone coudl suggest a safe way of removing it.

Yes, a few vinyl of mine have this. Best tip: get a bowl of warm soap/detergent, a soft cloth, work outwards from your white mark. If that mark doesn't wash off, I'd suggest researching 'vinyl maintenance' in search, as my knowledge of record cleaning's archaic.

If it is food or something soluble then a warm cloth should do it

spunk on the records is a pain in the arse to get off - stop fucking that record hole pindick!

but for real, hot water and soap will get that jizz off

Could be down to cheap vinyl used, I've seen a record before that had a bit of paper of something similar actually 'in' the vinyl & had been pressed over the top.

bit of dish soap in luke warm/tepid water always did the trick for me, not too much soap or it leaves a bit of a shitty film, residue on the rekurd

failing that discogs

Lighter fluid will remove it and wont damage the vinyl

120 grit sandpaper. Then smooth it off with a scouring pad.

If it is paper then a warm damp cloth pressed on there for a while could loosen it..
