Experimental electronic musician from Egilsstaðir, Iceland. Started his DJ career in 2006 but made his first release under the Muted moniker in 2009. Being a child of nature and living in such proximity with it, Muted spends a lot of time outside doing field-recordings which he then combines with his deep beats and ethereal atmospheres. His critically acclaimed debut album "Muted World" was released earlier this year and expected are numerous gigs from the Icelander in Europe, starting this summer.

THE MIX:

The main concept for this mix was to get as many of my „favorite“ songs in it. It consists of tracks that have been on my routine playlist throughout the years, some are new, but some have been on there forever. I didn‘t set any rules regarding genres or styles, I matched what could be matched and the rest was done following the vibe of the mix..."

Finn/Swede born and raised in Sweden. Started DJing 1996 and producing a few years later. Jeff Mills and Surgeon as rolemodels.
First vinyl release in 2001 on his own label Emergence Records. Had a good 10 year run in hard techno, but after a near death motorcycle crash in 2010 decided to reboot the career under the Rivet moniker. Nowadays crossing all types of genres both as a DJ and producer.

THE MIX:
It was a very organic process recording this, I just compiled some of my most listened to records of 2014. Since there were no guidelines on tempo or style I just went on moods. I am happy about how the styles range but the mood stays intact. To break the 2014 concept I added the 1982 Blancmange track that is an all time favorite of mine.."

FEELING the recent T. Williams, MJ Cole collab "Privilege" from March 2015. Also the forthcoming Paul Woolford "MDMA" tune on Hotflush. great piano led tunes imo. MJ Cole on keys on any tune is greatness, dude has chops, always. Of course, there's lots of Carl Craig tunes to post for piano works, etc. hmm..

Piano led tune.. Orbital, "Kein Trink Wasser". its interesting what tunes exist in the memory bank on the fly. I just thought of this tune NOW. its been ages.

another obvious MJ Cole tune for the piano greatness. from the 2011 "Red and Black" e.p. this was used in an advertisement after its release if i recall. "Red and Black Piano Mix" is just the instrumental.

the Maxence Cyrin "Modern Rhapsodies" piano covers lp from 2005 (FCommunications) had some moments for sure. a bit heady for the current edm set ha.
