DJ Twiz - Trance 105.4FM - London 1992 (tape rip)

13 Replies, 6369 Views

Got this tape from a cousin of a friend of a friend back in 1992... caned it back then cos I didn't have too many recorded pirate sets and I rotated the same 6 or 7 tapes again and again on my tape deck.

Anyway, came across it again the other day and I thought a few people might like to hear it !

Features stuff like Nasty Habits - "Here Comes The Drums", SMF - "Twisted Bungle", D.O.P.E - "Dope On Plastic", Nebula II - "X-Plore H-Core", DJ Trace & Ed Rush - "Don Bad Man" and DJ Hype - "I Can't Understand"... some of my favourite bits from 1992.

Quite alot of chatter from the MC's but it was all part of the new experience when I was 14, so I never minded it.

I didn't mention that it was the same 6 or 7 tapes on a crappy one speaker tape recorder with absolutely NO bass.
Maybe that explains my obsession with drums !!!

oh yeah, found this lil bit of info on the Trance FM station on the London Pirates site  http://www.londonpirates.co.uk/Trance.htm
That's why the era of the mega mix and mixtape was so huge, that's all we could afford Wink

Religious listening, with a capital R !!

I miss that kind of fanatical listening actually, where you'd know a whole hour of music inside out Grin Oops
Since I stopped djing I've really gone back to that, although we will never be as 'fanatical' as the days of our yoof when it was all brand new. If I find new stuff I like I tend to stick with it for a while.
Thanks!

you know what, that is probably a big part of why I don't listen that way anymore either !

in fact I rarely get the time to just put something on and get right into it these days - doing mixes and getting through demo's take up all the ear time.
Amazing time warp Icon_yippee
Ez Code, thanks again. You mind if I share this with a couple of mates on fb?
