Shotmaker - Belleville / Ottawa, ONT, Canada, 1993 - 1996

one of the greats! this band changed perceptions for many,.. myself included. I didn't listen to punk & hardcore the same way after hearing Shotmaker. it kicked my ass. during their brief existence, Shotmaker had some rather important releases within the 90's (post) hardcore realm for sure. I still listen to the discography on occasion, and STILL grasp onto the same inspirations as i did back then.

vital listening. yes. Yes basically, Shotmaker changed me, ya know? they were amazing. anything & everything. I love this band. still.

so, I'll admit. the Replacements fanatic in me is rather easy to please. i mean, it doesn't take much - a great hook, some swagger, and knowing where to source some of the greatest songs ever written.

eh, Paul Westerberg, DUDE, the world literally owes you everything right? right?

case in point: Beach Slang (Philly, PA). Replacements-esque tribute bands are ok, for the most part. I like my fair share of em. Beach Slang do a good job. its as if Paul Westerberg is in the band ya know? is that him singing?? heh.

easy to please. yup that's the Mats fanatic in me. Beach Slang get the nod. I'll give em that. tonite, I'm kinda obsessed. Icon_yippee

Props to anyone checking and/or digging this thread over the past 8 months. tunes get us all through the day, week, life or what have you. Noise is great. I value a good sonic ass kicking in any form. It all gives us a reason to tap your toe, or forget the world exists for a minute or 3. I'm always down.

whatever your sonic vice, its addicting, innit? cheers. Smile
